Connecting with Kimberly:

Connecting with Janelle:

It’s episode 88 and this is an encore. I’m sharing a totally timeless conversation I had four years ago with Kimberly Ann Johnson, a Somatic Experiencing™ Practitioner, educator, and author.

Kimberly and I have a number of things in common – experiences as completely solo parent single mothers, training in Structural Integration (aka Rolfing), and a love of dance, myth and embodiment. And, she’s just released a new book, Call of the Wild, which I’m going to encourage all of you to buy and read and do. For all of those reasons, I’m super happy to be sharing this conversation.

She helps women heal trauma, awaken their power and feel at home in their bodies to start living life on their own terms. She’s always had a deep knowing that she was in this world to change things for the better. All of that came into sharp focus though, when she became a mother. Her whole life changed completely in that moment, she had to learn a new way of being in the world. That gave her the “what”.

Learning the Somatic Experiencing™ tools and having her world rearranged all over again in that experience gave her the “how”. Now, she uses her training, education, experience, and advocacy to help women get closer to their blueprints, unpack all those layers of habits and conditioning, so they can hear what their body’s telling them, and know who they really are.

She’s the author of a newly released and timeless book, Call of the Wild, as well as the perennial favourite, The Fourth Trimester.

It was so lovely to connect with Kimberly and I’m super happy to bring this conversation into 2021. I’m pretty sure you’ll enjoy listening in.

Enjoy our ramble through Inanna’s Descent as well as her relationship with her body and creativity.
